Investing.com – Israel stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Communication, Technology and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 declined 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:TEVA), which rose 1.47% or 54 points to trade at 3716 at the close. Meanwhile, Energean Oil & Gas PLC (TASE:ENOG) added 0.79% or 33 points to end at 4234 and ICL Israel Chemicals Ltd (TASE:ICL) was up 0.67% or 13 points to 1943 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Energix (TASE:ENRG), which fell 4.73% or 61 points to trade at 1228 at the close. Nice Ltd (TASE:NICE) declined 3.31% or 2970 points to end at 86730 and Melisron (TASE:MLSR) was down 3.15% or 560 points to 17210.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 339 to 94 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Energean Oil & Gas PLC (TASE:ENOG) rose to 52-week highs; up 0.79% or 33 to 4234. Shares in ICL Israel Chemicals Ltd (TASE:ICL) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.67% or 13 to 1943.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.47% or 0.28 to $60.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.60% or 0.38 to hit $63.73 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 1.52% or 27.35 to trade at $1771.65 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.90% to 3.2693, while EUR/ILS rose 0.36% to 3.9362.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 90.970.
