Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Real Estate, Banking and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 fell 0.81% to hit a new 1-month low, while the BSE Sensex 30 index declined 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Bharti Infratel Ltd (NS:BHRI), which rose 3.80% or 10.30 points to trade at 281.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (NS:BPCL) added 3.14% or 11.45 points to end at 376.50 and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (NS:IOC) was up 2.70% or 4.15 points to 158.15 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB), which fell 29.04% or 92.70 points to trade at 226.50 at the close. Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF) declined 8.38% or 97.10 points to end at 1062.15 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:BJFN) was down 4.27% or 106.65 points to 2379.40.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd (BO:ONGC) which rose 1.95% to 180.10, Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) which was up 1.38% to settle at 337.35 and ITC Ltd (BO:ITC) which gained 1.37% to close at 303.75.
The worst performers were Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) which was down 28.71% to 227.05 in late trade, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO:KTKM) which lost 3.86% to settle at 1179.65 and Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:TAMdv) which was down 3.68% to 132.00 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1365 to 277 and 33 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2046 fell and 546 advanced, while 139 ended unchanged.
Shares in Yes Bank Ltd (NS:YESB) fell to 52-week lows; falling 29.04% or 92.70 to 226.50. Shares in Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (NS:INBF) fell to 52-week lows; falling 8.38% or 97.10 to 1062.15. Shares in Yes Bank Ltd (BO:YESB) fell to 52-week lows; down 28.71% or 91.45 to 227.05. Shares in Wipro Ltd (BO:WIPR) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.38% or 4.60 to 337.35. Shares in Tata Motors Ltd DVR (BO:TAMdv) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.68% or 5.05 to 132.00.
The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 10.92% to 15.5350 a new 3-months high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.12% or 1.50 to $1209.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.68% or 0.48 to hit $70.80 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.97% or 0.76 to trade at $79.46 a barrel.
USD/INR was up 0.65% to 72.189, while EUR/INR rose 0.16% to 84.9485.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 93.61.
