Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Real Estate and Auto sectors led shares higher.
At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 0.95%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.86%.
The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:REDY), which rose 4.78% or 279.05 points to trade at 6,120.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS:EICH) added 3.69% or 136.60 points to end at 3,841.35 and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NS:SUN) was up 3.15% or 43.25 points to 1,415.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Larsen & Toubro Ltd (NS:LART), which fell 4.22% or 153.30 points to trade at 3,480.00 at the close. Titan Company Ltd (NS:TITN) declined 1.03% or 38.30 points to end at 3,697.45 and Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (NS:BPCL) was down 0.39% or 1.95 points to 502.25.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Dr Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:REDY) which rose 4.61% to 6,115.00, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:SUN) which was up 3.42% to settle at 1,418.50 and Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:BJFS) which gained 2.28% to close at 1,627.15.
The worst performers were Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:LART) which was down 4.22% to 3,480.15 in late trade, Titan Company Ltd (BO:TITN) which lost 1.03% to settle at 3,697.40 and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO:KTKM) which was up 0.17% to 1,825.70 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1440 to 685 and 46 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2333 rose and 1363 declined, while 76 ended unchanged.

The India VIX, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 0.34% to 16.05.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.23% or 4.75 to $2,055.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.21% or 0.94 to hit $76.88 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.10% or 0.91 to trade at $81.59 a barrel.
USD/INR was down 0.07% to 83.06, while EUR/INR fell 0.21% to 89.95.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 103.38.
