Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Financial Services and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Basic Resources and Food & Beverages sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.40%, while the MDAX index gained 0.27%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.43%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were E.ON SE NA (DE:EONGn), which rose 1.29% or 0.116 points to trade at 9.078 at the close. Meanwhile, Linde PLC (DE:LINI) added 1.21% or 2.250 points to end at 188.850 and Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) was up 0.82% or 0.38 points to 46.63 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which fell 4.44% or 0.309 points to trade at 6.650 at the close. Covestro AG (DE:1COV) declined 2.52% or 1.150 points to end at 44.520 and Heidelbergcement AG O.N. (DE:HEIG) was down 2.23% or 1.480 points to 64.820.

The top performers on the MDAX were Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which rose 7.18% to 113.500, Deutsche Wohnen AG (DE:DWNG) which was up 4.45% to settle at 34.730 and United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which gained 3.34% to close at 30.350.

The worst performers were Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which was down 8.19% to 11.655 in late trade, Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG) which lost 6.14% to settle at 5.320 and Aareal Bank AG (DE:ARLG) which was down 4.77% to 26.550 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) which rose 7.18% to 113.500, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was up 3.34% to settle at 30.350 and S&T AG (DE:SANT1) which gained 2.92% to close at 21.12.

The worst performers were Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (DE:DRWG_p) which was down 3.96% to 53.350 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (DE:JENGn) which lost 2.08% to settle at 28.220 and Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 1.58% to 79.900 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 403 to 259 and 95 ended unchanged.

Shares in Linde PLC (DE:LINI) rose to all time highs; up 1.21% or 2.250 to 188.850. Shares in Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) rose to all time highs; up 7.18% or 7.600 to 113.500. Shares in Bechtle AG (DE:BC8G) rose to all time highs; rising 7.18% or 7.600 to 113.500.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.46% to 13.92.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.62% or 8.95 to $1462.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.04% or 0.59 to hit $57.39 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.84% or 0.52 to trade at $62.58 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1002, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8567.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 98.220.
