Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Retail, Technology and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction, Insurance and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX fell 0.04%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.49%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.40%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG), which rose 2.65% or 0.91 points to trade at 35.21 at the close. Meanwhile, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) added 2.32% or 0.82 points to end at 35.89 and Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) was up 2.24% or 0.43 points to 19.41 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:CBKG), which fell 4.14% or 0.41 points to trade at 9.39 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:DBKGn) declined 3.18% or 0.31 points to end at 9.34 and Covestro AG (ETR:1COV) was down 1.49% or 0.57 points to 37.75.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which rose 15.47% to 60.60, HelloFresh SE (ETR:HFGG) which was up 7.27% to settle at 17.93 and Kion Group AG (ETR:KGX) which gained 5.50% to close at 33.38.
The worst performers were CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which was down 2.26% to 58.35 in late trade, Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which lost 1.49% to settle at 42.40 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:TKAG) which was down 1.29% to 6.45 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which rose 15.47% to 60.60, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was up 4.48% to settle at 33.85 and Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which gained 4.13% to close at 29.52.
The worst performers were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was down 7.38% to 42.70 in late trade, Software AG (ETR:SOWGn) which lost 0.87% to settle at 19.37 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which was down 0.45% to 13.19 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 343 to 322 and 83 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 4.91% to 20.51.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 2.77% or 54.10 to $2,003.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.85% or 0.60 to hit $70.30 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.61% or 0.47 to trade at $76.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.88.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 101.94.
