Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financial Services, Insurance and Software sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 0.60%, while the MDAX index climbed 0.91%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.13%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Allianz SE VNA O.N. (XETRA:ALVG), which rose 1.72% or 2.450 points to trade at 144.650 at the close. Meanwhile, Lanxess AG (XETRA:LXSG) added 1.60% or 0.820 points to end at 52.080 and Daimler AG NA O.N. (XETRA:DAIGn) was up 1.33% or 1.110 points to 84.620 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were E.ON SE NA (XETRA:EONGn), which fell 1.70% or 0.220 points to trade at 12.740 at the close. Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (XETRA:LHAG) declined 0.93% or 0.115 points to end at 12.290 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (XETRA:TKAG) was down 0.90% or 0.215 points to 23.730.
The top performers on the MDAX were Gerry Weber Internat.O.N. (XETRA:GWIG) which rose 4.97% to 21.550, Deutsche Wohnen AG Inh (XETRA:DWNG) which was up 3.50% to settle at 22.650 and LEG Immobilien AG (XETRA:LEGn) which gained 3.24% to close at 67.900.
The worst performers were Rhoen-Klinikum O.N. (XETRA:RHKG) which was down 3.12% to 24.505 in late trade, DMG Mori Seiki AG (XETRA:GILG) which lost 1.35% to settle at 32.555 and STADA Arzneimittel VNA O.N. (XETRA:STAGn) which was down 1.19% to 30.370 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were LPKF Laser & Electronics (XETRA:LPKG) which rose 3.56% to 8.326, Adva Optical Networking SE (XETRA:ADAG) which was up 2.78% to settle at 6.468 and Dialog Semiconductor (XETRA:DLGS) which gained 2.55% to close at 48.375.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) which was down 2.82% to 106.900 in late trade, PSI AG F.Pr.U.Sys. NA (XETRA:PSAGn) which lost 2.09% to settle at 10.790 and Xing AG (XETRA:OBCGn) which was down 1.76% to 153.500 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 497 to 240 and 33 ended unchanged.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.19% to 21.95.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.61% or 7.20 to $1179.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.47% or 0.90 to hit $60.53 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.29% or 0.84 to trade at $64.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.78% to 1.1236, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.7253.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.64% at 95.19.
