Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Technology and Pharmaceuticals & Healthcare sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.35% to hit a new 52-week high, while the MDAX index gained 1.38%, and the TecDAX index added 1.92%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Continental AG O.N. (DE:CONG), which rose 3.93% or 4.82 points to trade at 127.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn) added 3.71% or 0.245 points to end at 6.840 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) was up 3.53% or 4.050 points to 118.900 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn), which fell 1.90% or 2.650 points to trade at 137.150 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) declined 0.94% or 0.260 points to end at 27.500 and Merck KGaA (DE:MRCG) was down 0.55% or 0.60 points to 107.95.

The top performers on the MDAX were Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (DE:FPEG_p) which rose 15.01% to 38.125, Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which was up 10.43% to settle at 12.015 and Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which gained 9.46% to close at 42.00.

The worst performers were Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) which was down 1.28% to 41.00 in late trade, Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which lost 1.10% to settle at 23.440 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which was down 0.86% to 57.500 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:SHLG) which rose 9.46% to 42.00, Aixtron SE NA O.N. (DE:AIXGn) which was up 5.35% to settle at 8.7380 and Wirecard AG (DE:WDIG) which gained 3.53% to close at 118.900.

The worst performers were Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) which was down 1.10% to 23.440 in late trade, New Work SE (DE:NWOn) which lost 1.06% to settle at 280.00 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (DE:COPMa) which was down 0.86% to 57.500 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 482 to 206 and 72 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.07% to 13.77.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.04% or 0.55 to $1511.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.83% or 1.03 to hit $57.23 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 1.41% or 0.87 to trade at $62.56 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1141, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.8638.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 97.250.
