Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Transportation & Logistics, Retail and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.83%, while the MDAX index gained 0.61%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Covestro AG (ETR:1COV), which rose 2.83% or 1.13 points to trade at 41.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (ETR:ZALG) added 2.59% or 0.64 points to end at 25.36 and Adidas AG (ETR:ADSGN) was up 2.35% or 3.96 points to 172.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn), which fell 1.70% or 0.32 points to trade at 18.25 at the close. Siemens Energy AG (ETR:ENR1n) declined 0.80% or 0.19 points to end at 23.70 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) was down 0.61% or 0.56 points to 90.76.
The top performers on the MDAX were Duerr AG (ETR:DUEG) which rose 5.95% to 30.26, ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which was up 4.04% to settle at 9.43 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 3.80% to close at 77.80.
The worst performers were CTS Eventim AG (ETR:EVDG) which was down 7.50% to 59.85 in late trade, Befesa SA (ETR:BFSA) which lost 3.62% to settle at 35.14 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:TEGG) which was down 3.26% to 8.26 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:QH9) which rose 4.04% to 9.43, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:VBKG) which was up 3.99% to settle at 40.65 and Siltronic AG (ETR:WAFGn) which gained 3.80% to close at 77.80.
The worst performers were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:MORG) which was down 3.25% to 27.09 in late trade, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:NEKG) which lost 1.52% to settle at 72.42 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:HAGG) which was down 1.09% to 28.94 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 428 to 221 and 95 ended unchanged.
Shares in Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:SY1G) fell to 3-years lows; losing 0.61% or 0.56 to 90.76.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.65% to 14.30 a new 3-years low.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.59% or 11.55 to $1,958.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.47% or 2.33 to hit $69.45 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 3.49% or 2.51 to trade at $74.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.43% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 102.81.
