Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Software and Retail sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.27%, while the MDAX index unchanged 0.00%, and the TecDAX index unchanged 0.00%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn), which rose 1.43% or 0.54 points to trade at 38.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:RHMG) added 1.05% or 5.50 points to end at 527.50 and SAP SE (ETR:SAPG) was up 1.14% or 2.05 points to 181.37 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were E.ON SE (ETR:EONGn), which fell 1.04% or 0.13 points to trade at 12.41 at the close. Vonovia SE (ETR:VNAn) declined 0.69% or 0.20 points to end at 28.79 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) was down 0.57% or 0.13 points to 21.99.
The top performers on the MDAX were Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:GBFG) which rose 1.59% to 51.20, Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which was up 1.55% to settle at 23.24 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:NDXG) which gained 1.22% to close at 14.51.
The worst performers were Puma SE (ETR:PUMG) which was down 1.53% to 48.98 in late trade, Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:BOSSn) which lost 0.57% to settle at 48.06 and Aurubis AG (ETR:NAFG) which was down 0.34% to 73.90 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:AIXGn) which rose 1.55% to 23.24, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:IFXGn) which was up 1.43% to settle at 38.25 and Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) which gained 1.25% to close at 56.60.
The worst performers were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR:DTEGn) which was down 0.57% to 21.99 in late trade, Freenet AG NA (ETR:FNTGn) which lost 0.13% to settle at 23.33 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:EVTG) which was unchanged 0.00% to 9.60 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 48 to 23 and 2 ended unchanged.
Shares in Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:SMHNn) rose to all time highs; up 1.25% or 0.70 to 56.60.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 13.99.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.19% or 28.45 to $2,364.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.41% or 0.32 to hit $77.25 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.29% or 0.24 to trade at $81.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 104.79.
