MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian gas giant Gazprom (MCX:GAZP) said on Monday it had received a formal warning from Russian regulators that the idled Portovaya compressor station, which is supposed to push gas towards Germany through the Nord Steam 1 pipeline, no longer complied with safety requirements.

Gazprom had said on Friday that it had detected a leak of engine oil in the only turbine that was still working at Portovaya, and would shut off natural gas supply until it was repaired.

On Monday, it cited Siemens Energy, which has done maintenance on Nord Stream 1 turbines, as saying that "the causes of oil leakage can only be eliminated by a specialised repair company".

Its statement said Portovaya was now a "hazardous production facility" and could no longer operate legally.

Siemens Energy said on Saturday that it had not been commissioned to carry out the work, and that the leak reported by Gazprom would not usually affect the operation of a turbine and could be sealed on site.

It also said other turbines were available for use at the Portovaya station.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on Monday reiterated Moscow's position that problems with the supply of gas from Russia were entirely the result of Western sanctions.

Europe has accused Russia of weaponising energy supplies in retaliation for Western sanctions imposed on Moscow over its military intervention in Ukraine.

Hahaha, hilarious!!
Wait until all Russian oil stops
So the Russians started a military action agaiunst Ukraine, due to perceived encroachment by the usa in various guise, the eu and others joined in with the usa in sanctioning Russia and also sent large amounts of military and other aid to Ukraine, both of which were intended to harm Russia, and now, whilst the usa is doing well out of the conflict, and achieving its aim of extending Russia, eu countries and the UK have to spens hundreds of billions each to try and get over the economic fallout, and blame Russia for not selling them so much gas and oil! Note, that the gas still supplied via overland pipelines through Ukraine still gets Ukrain transit fees paid to it by Russia!! You could not make up such a farcical situation.
oops, we broke it.
Its All Geopolitics ! Dont read too much into the News!…Citizens and people begin to belive -what is propogated by diff Gov’s. I Pray for the end of all wars. Humanity is at stake.
One side is evil, another side is stupid. Will they understand each other? Unlikely. Stupid side cannot understand, by definition, while evil side doesn’t  want to understand. It wants to win the war, while the other side stays stupid.
Just his many user names do you deploy here?
This only show to the word that Brandon is a joke. Poor USA. Euro is going to end. And individually will return. Socialism has never worked.
I'm beginning to see a pattern of misunderstanding from both sides and above all the absolute futility of this war!
You do recognize that not both sides are on equal moral ground, though, yes?

Interesting development, though not entirely unexpected. Obviously enough, Putin enjoys playing chess with western folks.
Original message used word different from “folks”, better affiliated with their iq level; alas, it was censored out.
