Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Utilities sectors led shares higher while losses in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.13%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Capgemini SE (EPA:CAPP), which rose 2.75% or 5.70 points to trade at 213.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) added 1.86% or 1.95 points to end at 106.95 and Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) was up 1.57% or 1.60 points to 103.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 3.61% or 2.16 points to trade at 57.72 at the close. Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) declined 2.85% or 3.05 points to end at 104.10 and Edenred SA (EPA:EDEN) was down 2.27% or 1.06 points to 45.56.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which rose 9.97% to 3.57, Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which was up 5.07% to settle at 114.00 and Viridian SA (EPA:VIRI) which gained 4.39% to close at 0.54.
The worst performers were Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 9.43% to 3.99 in late trade, Forvia (EPA:FRVIA) which lost 3.80% to settle at 14.43 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) which was down 3.61% to 57.72 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 264 to 244 and 97 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) rose to 5-year highs; rising 5.07% or 5.50 to 114.00.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.76% or 42.05 to $2,350.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.84% or 0.65 to hit $76.92 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.66% or 0.54 to trade at $81.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 104.82.
