Investing.com – France stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Healthcare and Industrials sectors led shares higher while losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Aerospace & Defense sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.32%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which rose 5.49% or 0.62 points to trade at 11.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) added 1.13% or 1.06 points to end at 95.19 and Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) was up 0.98% or 1.12 points to 115.22 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 2.46% or 0.63 points to trade at 24.79 at the close. Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA:MICP) declined 1.86% or 0.60 points to end at 31.64 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was down 1.74% or 2.30 points to 129.95.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) which rose 5.49% to 11.91, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was up 4.25% to settle at 5.98 and Nexans SA (EPA:NEXS) which gained 3.40% to close at 77.60.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was unchanged 8.81% to 0.01 in late trade, CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which lost 6.95% to settle at 0.54 and Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was down 6.15% to 2.32 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 285 to 227 and 93 ended unchanged.
Shares in CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) fell to 3-years lows; down 6.95% or 0.04 to 0.54.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.15% or 3.15 to $2,036.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 2.76% or 1.95 to hit $72.72 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 2.56% or 1.95 to trade at $78.07 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 102.22.
