Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Foods & Drugs, Travel & Leisure and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.04%, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.10%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Peugeot SA (PARIS:PEUP), which rose 0.10% or 0.01 points to trade at 15.67 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (PARIS:ALSO) fell 0.02% or 0.01 points to end at 28.60 and Engie SA (PARIS:ENGIE) was down 0.07% or 0.01 points to 15.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Technip (PARIS:TECF), which fell 4.48% or 2.02 points to trade at 43.12 at the close. Orange SA (PARIS:ORAN) declined 3.23% or 0.46 points to end at 13.79 and Bouygues SA (PARIS:BOUY) was down 3.11% or 1.09 points to 33.93.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Zodiac Aerospace (PARIS:ZODC) which rose 2.10% to 28.18, Genfit (PARIS:GNFT) which was up 1.75% to settle at 35.240 and Sopra Steria Group SA (PARIS:SOPR) which gained 0.47% to close at 97.63.
The worst performers were Edenred (PARIS:EDEN) which was down 5.28% to 15.97 in late trade, CGG (PARIS:GEPH) which lost 5.22% to settle at 3.70 and Technip (PARIS:TECF) which was down 4.48% to 43.12 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 501 to 191 and 60 ended unchanged.
Shares in Edenred (PARIS:EDEN) fell to 3-years lows; losing 5.28% or 0.89 to 15.97.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 0.77% to 30.03.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.60% or 6.70 to $1102.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.48% or 1.14 to hit $44.78 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.67% or 0.81 to trade at $48.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.45% to 1.1330, while EUR/GBP rose 0.55% to 0.7344.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 95.26.
