Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Oil & Gas Producers and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.21%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 5.08% or 0.218 points to trade at 4.513 at the close. Meanwhile, Cap Gemini SA (PA:CAPP) added 3.29% or 2.80 points to end at 87.82 and Valeo SA (PA:VLOF) was up 1.82% or 2.45 points to 136.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP), which fell 2.76% or 1.35 points to trade at 47.51 at the close. Technip (PA:TECF) declined 1.97% or 0.97 points to end at 48.50 and Total SA (PA:TOTF) was down 1.60% or 0.69 points to 42.34.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Rubis (PA:RUBF) which rose 5.97% to 72.02, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) which was up 5.08% to settle at 4.513 and Zodiac Aerospace (PA:ZODC) which gained 4.03% to close at 21.93.
The worst performers were CGG (PA:GEPH) which was down 2.99% to 0.6500 in late trade, BNP Paribas SA (PA:BNPP) which lost 2.76% to settle at 47.51 and Eutelsat Communications (PA:ETL) which was down 2.65% to 16.75 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 373 to 303 and 93 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eutelsat Communications (PA:ETL) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.65% or 0.46 to 16.75.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 3.23% to 21.28.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.02% or 0.20 to $1214.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.47% or 0.23 to hit $49.24 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.84% or 0.42 to trade at $50.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1156, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.7735.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 95.49.
