Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 lost 1.73% to hit a new 1-month low, while the SBF 120 index declined 1.65%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLA), which rose 3.36% or 0.43 points to trade at 13.16 at the close. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) added 2.19% or 1.09 points to end at 50.60 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was up 2.00% or 0.46 points to 23.17 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which fell 4.95% or 9.55 points to trade at 183.20 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) declined 4.81% or 2.00 points to end at 39.49 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was down 4.48% or 2.56 points to 54.56.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which rose 9.00% to 1.04, Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was up 4.04% to settle at 49.50 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLA) which gained 3.36% to close at 13.16.
The worst performers were JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) which was down 10.26% to 17.24 in late trade, Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which lost 6.15% to settle at 172.50 and Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP) which was down 4.95% to 183.20 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 376 to 170 and 92 ended unchanged.
Shares in JC Decaux SA (EPA:JCDX) fell to 52-week lows; down 10.26% or 1.97 to 17.24.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.69% or 13.00 to $1,888.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.00% or 2.16 to hit $110.42 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.85% or 2.05 to trade at $112.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.28% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 103.49.
