Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Foods & Drugs, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.57%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (PA:VIV), which rose 6.03% or 1.49 points to trade at 26.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (PA:SGOB) added 3.74% or 1.32 points to end at 36.60 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) was up 2.51% or 9.45 points to 385.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (PA:PRTP), which fell 7.01% or 35.65 points to trade at 473.25 at the close. Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (PA:MICP) declined 2.66% or 2.85 points to end at 104.35 and Peugeot SA (PA:PEUP) was down 2.39% or 0.55 points to 22.50.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sopra Steria Group SA (PA:SOPR) which rose 17.00% to 117.00, Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) which was up 10.28% to settle at 198.50 and SES (PA:SESFd) which gained 9.43% to close at 14.80.
The worst performers were Imerys SA (PA:IMTP) which was down 9.31% to 41.32 in late trade, Groupe FNAC (PA:FNAC) which lost 8.98% to settle at 65.350 and Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) which was down 7.09% to 5.70 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 310 to 249 and 89 ended unchanged.
Shares in LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (PA:LVMH) rose to all time highs; rising 2.51% or 9.45 to 385.60. Shares in Teleperformance SE (PA:TEPRF) rose to all time highs; gaining 10.28% or 18.50 to 198.50. Shares in Europcar Groupe SA (PA:EUCAR) fell to all time lows; losing 7.09% or 0.43 to 5.70.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was down 5.63% to 12.81.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.27% or 3.85 to $1418.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.07% or 0.04 to hit $56.06 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $63.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1121, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.8981.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 97.790.
