Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.41%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO), which rose 3.19% or 0.42 points to trade at 13.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) added 3.15% or 11.15 points to end at 364.90 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) was up 2.91% or 1.82 points to 64.31 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which fell 2.10% or 0.57 points to trade at 26.59 at the close. Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) declined 0.81% or 0.13 points to end at 15.86 and Hermes International SCA (EPA:HRMS) was down 0.67% or 16.00 points to 2,387.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Rubis SCA (EPA:RUBF) which rose 12.46% to 31.60, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which was up 5.21% to settle at 1.45 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which gained 4.27% to close at 3.91.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 7.33% to 11.02 in late trade, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which lost 4.28% to settle at 2.53 and Carmila SA (EPA:CARM) which was down 3.81% to 15.64 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 259 to 244 and 103 ended unchanged.
Shares in BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.91% or 1.82 to 64.31. Shares in Rubis SCA (EPA:RUBF) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 12.46% or 3.50 to 31.60.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.05% or 1.00 to $2,177.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.13% or 0.11 to hit $82.06 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.08 to trade at $86.00 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 103.98.
