Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.29% to hit a new all time high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV), which rose 2.38% or 0.23 points to trade at 10.03 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) added 2.14% or 2.06 points to end at 98.44 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 1.98% or 1.68 points to 86.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 2.40% or 1.38 points to trade at 56.20 at the close. Vinci SA (EPA:SGEF) declined 2.32% or 2.78 points to end at 117.00 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA:STMPA) was down 1.41% or 0.62 points to 42.88.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 8.72% to 2.41, ID Logistics SAS (EPA:IDLA) which was up 5.72% to settle at 351.00 and Neoen SA (EPA:NEOEN) which gained 4.07% to close at 25.06.
The worst performers were Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which was down 4.21% to 136.50 in late trade, SES (EPA:SESFd) which lost 3.82% to settle at 6.05 and Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was down 3.80% to 9.65 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 284 to 216 and 99 ended unchanged.
Shares in Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) rose to all time highs; rising 2.14% or 2.06 to 98.44. Shares in ID Logistics SAS (EPA:IDLA) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.72% or 19.00 to 351.00.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.79% or 17.15 to $2,163.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 2.37% or 1.89 to hit $81.61 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.94% or 1.63 to trade at $85.66 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 102.95.
