Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.18% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.94%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which rose 2.33% or 0.43 points to trade at 18.89 at the close. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF) added 1.93% or 1.19 points to end at 63.00 and Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) was up 1.62% or 1.20 points to 75.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 2.36% or 1.24 points to trade at 51.40 at the close. Schneider Electric SE (EPA:SCHN) declined 1.64% or 2.72 points to end at 163.30 and EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) was down 1.56% or 2.80 points to 176.58.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 4.84% to 6.98, Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was up 3.53% to settle at 5.86 and ALD SA (EPA:ALDA) which gained 2.77% to close at 6.50.
The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which was down 18.73% to 0.40 in late trade, Clariane SE (EPA:CLARI) which lost 3.38% to settle at 2.80 and Soitec SA (EPA:SOIT) which was down 3.19% to 164.10 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 253 to 252 and 120 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.42% or 8.25 to $1,976.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.00% or 2.28 to hit $78.32 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 2.78% or 2.24 to trade at $82.85 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.37% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.48% at 103.30.
