Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Healthcare and Foods & Drugs sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.16%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.18%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Alstom SA (PA:ALSO), which rose 1.50% or 0.46 points to trade at 31.17 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:EUFI) added 1.42% or 1.56 points to end at 111.16 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) was up 1.28% or 0.77 points to 60.79 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which fell 1.27% or 0.37 points to trade at 28.36 at the close. Dassault Systemes SE (PA:DAST) declined 0.96% or 0.51 points to end at 52.70 and Legrand SA (PA:LEGD) was down 0.63% or 0.65 points to 102.80.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Elior Group (PA:ELIOR) which rose 3.87% to 6.18, Solutions 30 SE (PA:S30) which was up 3.57% to settle at 6.96 and Albioma SA (PA:ABIO) which gained 2.47% to close at 34.04.

The worst performers were CGG SA (PA:GEPH) which was down 2.02% to 0.631 in late trade, Ovh Groupe SAS (PA:OVH) which lost 1.29% to settle at 24.48 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) which was down 1.27% to 28.36 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 336 to 227 and 97 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 52-week low.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.47% or 8.55 to $1814.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.51% or 0.39 to hit $76.95 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.37% or 0.29 to trade at $79.50 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1315, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8390.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 96.095.
