Wall Street rises as materials and crypto stocks offset continued bond sell-off
Investing.com-- Ubtech Robotics (HK:9880) shares surged on Monday after the company flagged strong pre-sale figures for its consumer humanoid robot, helping the Chinese robotics major outpace a broader rout in tech and artificial intelligence shares.
Ubtech Robotics surged as much as 8.3% to an over one-week high of HK$121.30. The stock largely outpaced a near 2% drop in Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index.

Ubtech said its recently introduced consumer-focused robotics brand, UWORLD, saw over 2,110 pre-sale orders in the six days since it unveiled an advanced, “ultra-bionic” humanoid robot.
The robot is positioned for “emotional companionship,” and is set for a targeted launch of June 30. Consumers could secure a pre-sale order for 3,000 yuan.
Ubtech’s strong pre-order sales indicated that early demand for consumer humanoid robots, which is a rapidly growing point of interest in the tech industry, was stronger than initially expected, and could represent a lucrative market for Ubtech in the coming years.
Ubtech is one of China’s oldest and most prominent robotics companies, with a bulk of its products currently used in automotive and logistics applications.
Ubtech on Monday largely outpaced broader losses in tech and AI stocks, as a recent rally in the sector ran out of steam.
