Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Real Estate and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 2.01% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Ambev SA (SA:ABEV3), which rose 1.12% or 0.20 points to trade at 18.07 at the close. Meanwhile, Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 6.65 and CPFL Energia SA (SA:CPFE3) was down 0.04% or 0.01 points to 26.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3), which fell 7.11% or 1.21 points to trade at 15.80 at the close. JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) declined 5.35% or 0.34 points to end at 6.01 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET6) was down 4.22% or 0.70 points to 15.89.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 255 to 102 and 42 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 7.53% to 33.55.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.18% or 2.24 to $1244.46 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.05% or 0.91 to hit $43.52 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 1.60% or 2.02 to trade at $124.28 .
USD/BRL was up 1.32% to 3.3258, while EUR/BRL rose 1.16% to 3.7022.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.17% at 97.40.
