Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Electric Power and Public Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa lost 1.35%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4), which rose 6.36% or 0.72 points to trade at 12.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Vale SA (SA:VALE3) added 4.30% or 1.03 points to end at 25.00 and Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3) was up 3.96% or 0.97 points to 25.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3), which fell 4.55% or 0.720 points to trade at 15.110 at the close. Cia Paranaense de Energia (SA:CPLE6) declined 3.70% or 1.35 points to end at 35.14 and Banco do Brasil SA (SA:BBAS3) was down 3.54% or 1.00 points to 27.28.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 243 to 129 and 33 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.34% to 34.17.
Gold for December delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1274.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.67% or 0.30 to hit $45.28 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 1.09% or 1.83 to trade at $169.93 .
USD/BRL was up 1.52% to 3.2182, while EUR/BRL rose 0.63% to 3.5173.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.63% at 98.50.
