Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumption, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Companhia Brasileira deDistribuicao (SA:PCAR4), which rose 3.46% or 2.00 points to trade at 59.88 at the close. Meanwhile, CCR SA (SA:CCRO3) added 3.03% or 0.49 points to end at 16.65 and Gerdau SA (SA:GGBR4) was up 2.36% or 0.24 points to 10.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which fell 4.09% or 0.260 points to trade at 6.100 at the close. JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) declined 3.60% or 0.34 points to end at 9.11 and Usinas Siderurgicas de Minas Gerais (SA:USIM5) was down 3.00% or 0.12 points to 3.88.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 175 to 161 and 34 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 2.15% to 38.92 a new 3-months high.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.75 to $1305.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.21% or 0.54 to hit $44.12 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract rose 3.17% or 5.25 to trade at $170.93 .
USD/BRL was down 0.31% to 3.2325, while EUR/BRL fell 0.09% to 3.5979.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 96.99.
