Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.58%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3), which rose 6.53% or 4.12 points to trade at 67.22 at the close. Meanwhile, Localiza Rent a Car SA (SA:RENT3) added 5.33% or 1.40 points to end at 27.65 and Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB3) was up 3.64% or 0.80 points to 22.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3), which fell 5.08% or 0.46 points to trade at 8.59 at the close. Qualicorp SA (SA:QUAL3) declined 4.81% or 1.38 points to end at 27.32 and Gerdau SA Pref (SA:GGBR4) was down 4.18% or 0.70 points to 16.03.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the BM&FBovespa Stock Exchange by 239 to 200 and 37 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.87% to 31.38.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.37% or 4.90 to $1322.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.39% or 0.85 to hit $60.30 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.28% or 0.34 to trade at $120.38 .
USD/BRL was up 0.71% to 3.2684, while EUR/BRL fell 0.11% to 4.0239.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 90.11.
