Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials, Real Estate and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.94%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Braskem SA (SA:BRKM5), which rose 9.33% or 1.07 points to trade at 12.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Embraer SA (SA:EMBR3) added 6.22% or 1.40 points to end at 23.90 and Oi SA (SA:OIBR4) was up 5.22% or 0.24 points to 4.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3), which fell 5.21% or 0.05 points to trade at 0.91 at the close. Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) declined 5.08% or 0.76 points to end at 14.20 and BR Properties SA (SA:BRPR3) was down 1.65% or 0.19 points to 11.35.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 236 to 84 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in ALL America Latina Logistica SA (SA:RUMO3) fell to all time lows; falling 5.21% or 0.05 to 0.91. Shares in Estacio Participacoes SA (SA:ESTC3) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.08% or 0.76 to 14.20.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.02% to 36.33.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.58% or 6.30 to $1095.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.59% or 1.74 to hit $46.78 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 0.68% or 0.85 to trade at $125.72 .
USD/BRL was up 1.40% to 3.4194, while EUR/BRL rose 1.90% to 3.7559.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 97.32.
