Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Real Estate, Consumption and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3), which rose 4.51% or 0.31 points to trade at 7.18 at the close. Meanwhile, JBS SA (SA:JBSS3) added 3.65% or 0.23 points to end at 6.53 and Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (SA:ELET3) was up 2.81% or 0.34 points to 12.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fibria Celulose SA (SA:FIBR3), which fell 1.49% or 0.51 points to trade at 33.81 at the close. EcoRodovias SA (SA:ECOR3) declined 0.38% or 0.04 points to end at 10.35 and Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) was down 0.28% or 0.07 points to 24.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 273 to 108 and 33 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.14% to 30.62.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.27% or 3.42 to $1242.38 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.96% or 1.33 to hit $46.26 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.26% or 0.33 to trade at $126.00 .
USD/BRL was up 0.12% to 3.3072, while EUR/BRL fell 0.07% to 3.7775.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 95.40.
