Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Electric Power, Financials and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Banco Santander Brasil SA (SA:SANB11), which rose 5.48% or 1.44 points to trade at 27.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Marfrig Alimentos SA (SA:MRFG3) added 5.30% or 0.31 points to end at 6.16 and Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (SA:CSAN3) was up 4.08% or 1.45 points to 36.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cyrela Brazil Realty SA (SA:CYRE3), which fell 4.47% or 0.41 points to trade at 8.76 at the close. Klabin Unt (SA:KLBN11) declined 2.83% or 0.47 points to end at 16.11 and Kroton Educacional SA (SA:KROT3) was down 2.67% or 0.380 points to 13.850.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 218 to 169 and 32 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.18% to 39.29.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.73% or 8.85 to $1208.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.46% or 0.21 to hit $45.63 a barrel, while the December US coffee C contract fell 0.42% or 0.67 to trade at $158.38 .
USD/BRL was down 1.07% to 3.3827, while EUR/BRL fell 1.35% to 3.5839.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.34% at 101.34.
