Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Real Estate and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Hypermarcas SA (SA:HYPE3), which rose 3.00% or 0.71 points to trade at 24.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Telefonica Brasil SA (SA:VIVT4) added 2.77% or 1.22 points to end at 45.25 and Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) was up 2.49% or 0.84 points to 34.54 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cia Siderurgica Nacional SA (SA:CSNA3), which fell 5.74% or 0.52 points to trade at 8.54 at the close. Suzano Papel e Celulose SA (SA:SUZB5) declined 5.10% or 0.60 points to end at 11.16 and Cia Energetica de Minas Gerais (SA:CMIG4) was down 3.17% or 0.24 points to 7.32.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 168 to 125 and 22 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.17% to 37.00.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.25% or 3.45 to $1363.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.68% or 2.22 to hit $45.21 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 1.05% or 1.50 to trade at $141.85 .
USD/BRL was up 1.11% to 3.3672, while EUR/BRL rose 0.79% to 3.7257.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 96.30.
