Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Consumption sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa added 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were CCR SA (SA:CCRO3), which rose 4.35% or 0.63 points to trade at 15.12 at the close. Meanwhile, Smiles ON (SA:SMLE3) added 3.80% or 1.53 points to end at 41.83 and Cielo SA (SA:CIEL3) was up 3.35% or 0.91 points to 28.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CEMIG - Companhia Energetica Minas Gerais Pref (SA:CMIG4), which fell 2.02% or 0.15 points to trade at 7.28 at the close. Cia Paranaense de Energia (SA:CPLE6) declined 1.95% or 0.53 points to end at 26.69 and Banco Bradesco SA (SA:BBDC3) was down 1.82% or 0.50 points to 27.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange by 189 to 144 and 39 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.90% to 35.21 a new 1-month low.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.02% or 0.25 to $1133.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.48% or 0.79 to hit $52.51 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 0.44% or 0.63 to trade at $144.25 .
USD/BRL was down 0.81% to 3.3275, while EUR/BRL fell 0.46% to 3.4697.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 103.02.
