Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 1.10% or 0.80 points to trade at 73.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Sofina (BR:SOF) added 0.77% or 1.00 points to end at 130.60 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 0.77% or 1.15 points to 149.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aperam (AS:APAM), which fell 3.77% or 1.80 points to trade at 46.03 at the close. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 1.19% or 0.55 points to end at 45.57 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was down 1.13% or 0.25 points to 21.82.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 59 to 45 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) rose to all time highs; up 0.77% or 1.15 to 149.55.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.24% or 3.03 to $1267.23 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.44% or 1.21 to hit $48.41 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.44% or 1.28 to trade at $51.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.27% to 1.0875, while EUR/GBP fell 0.68% to 0.8431.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 99.03.
