Investing.com -- Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN) shares gained 2.9% on Monday after the financial technology platform announced a partnership with Xiaomi to process payments for the consumer electronics company across 18 markets.

The Dutch payments company will handle transactions for Xiaomi’s consumer electronics business unit in markets including Singapore, Japan, United Arab Emirates, Australia, Mexico, and the European Union. Xiaomi currently operates in more than 100 markets and regions through its ecommerce website and physical retail stores.

Xiaomi has adopted Adyen’s Unified Commerce solution, which allows the electronics manufacturer to manage online and in-store payments through a single integration. The platform aims to streamline operations across Xiaomi’s global footprint while providing technical reliability for payment processing.

"We’re pleased to support Xiaomi’s international growth journey," said Roelant Prins, Chief Commercial Officer at Adyen. "Xiaomi is a powerhouse in consumer electronics – a dynamic industry characterized by rapid innovation and fierce competition. By delivering scalable payment capabilities, we empower Xiaomi to navigate global transactions securely and with ease."

The partnership expands Adyen’s presence in the consumer electronics sector, adding one of the industry’s major players to its client roster. The deal covers both digital and physical retail channels, reflecting the omnichannel nature of modern retail operations.
