Wall Street loves bubbles, because they make tons of money on the way up and down... unfortunately it is not the same for retail investors investing in individual stocks.

Tesla is no more a bubble than Apple or Amazon, the long term investors have done incredibly well, traders and short sellers are playing in a casino that's often on fire

Dan: NHTSA now sees things my way! The truth has finally prevailed. In their new report, the National Highway Traffic Administration (NHTSA) found: Tesla had over 5.5 times more self-driving crashes than they reported. After correcting for this, Tesla’s data shows supervised Full Self-Driving is much less safe than driving without it. NHTSA found Tesla’s approach is way worse than everyone else in the industry. NHTSA found Tesla is killing people with its unfathomable refusal to prohibit software from operating where it is known to be unsafe. NHTSA found the driver monitoring system fails to do what it needs to do to be safe. And drum roll please, wait for it… NHTSA found it blows past stopped school busses with lights flashing and stop sign extended and runs down children in the road! Autopilot & FSD’s days are numbered.

Mercedes is the first automaker in the US to sell cars that are L3 self driving which means the driver doesn’t have to pay attention to the road. It should be noted that Tesla’s products are at L2 despite brand names like Autopilot & Full Self Driving that imply it’s at L5.

Shaun Rein • 2nd Entrepreneur. Strategic... 1h • Edited • © Following Tesla is in trouble in China (& so is Apple)! I went on CNBC yesterday to discuss why Tesla is facing headwinds in China with Tanvir Gill Will Koulouris Some key points from my interview First, Tesla has lost its luxury brand position in China. 5 years ago all my neighbors bought Bentleys and Porsche 4 years ago, all rich in China wanted to buy a Tesla. The cars were cool and revolutionary Now? All my neighbors are buying NIOs & Li Xiangs. Low and middle class Chinese are buying Xiaomi, Huawei & BYD cars Chinese NEVs are as good as Tesla. Same w mobile phones from Huawei - that's why Apple's sales in China are collapsing. Little innovation, few cool designs, outrageously high pricing Second, Tesla is price cutting to compete with Chinese NEVs. If there's one thing I've learned in my nearly 3 decades in China, western brands can't compete on price Tesla hasn't launched any new models in China in years.

If Elon is smart - and he is -he will ignore calls for a refresh on Tesla body styles. Tesla body is now rather iconic and it hasn't changed. That means you can make the PORSCHE Play ... look at a Porsche 20-30 years ago and it looks like a PORSCHE . A few style minor changes but nothing at all besides minor changes. It's a PORSCHE - people don't care. They see it on the road and they know it's a porche ... Elon can do the same thing - focus on "it's a Tesla" ... MAKE sure the quality is good and keep updating the software and the FSD and the mileage and the speed and make a few minor style changes like porsche did. Thats it.... Make the tesla body a true Icon ...like porsche . Don't cheapen it up with some new fangled Chinese chrome and design that changes all the time.

Tesla isn’t Porsche and it’s trying to be mass market. It wouldn’t work. People in this segment of the market want fresh body styles and if musk does not deliver, they will go somewhere else as they are doing now.

actually the Porsche analogy fits perfect, my buddy drive a 2012 Model S, the thing looks impressive and fresh, he's got over 100k miles and the car still drives great, horse and buggy enthusiasts need a refresh every few years to stay excited about the boring designs most companies are putting out there, Porsche is definitely an exception.
