Is it time to buy?
I'm a buyer of 30% of the total $ value for this equity!
Another issue is the increased liabilities & depleting assets! Revenue remains solid.
this would be a great time to buy
this would be a great time to buy
earnings a problem
Good sign that we closed above the 50 DMA today, and that the 50 crossed the 200 recently.  I added to my long near the LOD.
and up it goes ^_^
sn needs to start making money at this price of oil sheesh
I think it is time that SN add some rigs and bring on production that is not hedged and getting full, gulf-coast pricing.  They should add 3 - 5 rigs right now, because the service market is only going to tighten.  Now is the time to do it with the Permian black hole no longer sucking up every spare piece of equipment on the market.  This would also wash out the massive short position in this stock.  That's going to happen soon enough, and this thing is going to 10 in a hurry when it does.
well it is 4.11 I know they blew it on hedging but they never knew oil was going up they were just protecting it going down I own it and am riding it long hoping for a lot higher price have some money buying dip selling bounce but as a whole stuck in a red position so do not sell that
what effects SN price the most, if not oil?
1.  Their debt load.  2.  The amount of forward production they have hedged, which limits upside when oil and gas prices rise. 3.  The acreage they have is not considered "top tier."
Volume on SN is exploding today.
oil is up why not sn
Because most of SN production is light distillates and fetch a much lower price than oil. Spread to oil is at record high.
Possible short squeeze in the making:)
After the financial report, all the gains evaporated in one day. Yes growth in barrels is phenomenal, yet financial performance is horrible to say the least. Underperformance of the oil price is at record low.
SN just released its yearly and quarterly results. SN received just USD 22.81 per barrel of condensate and just 32 USD per barrel oil equivalent, which is just 5 USD more than last year, despite the oil price hovering around 60. Impairment and depletion is 100 mill last quarter at a revenue of 250 mill. In addition the company took on 500 mill more liabilities at a yearly revenue of 750 mill. This is just incredible annihilation of capital. No wonder the company underperforms the oil price now by 96%.
SN, CHK, RRC, WFT, SWN.... steeply falling despite stable and relatively high product prices. Something big is going on here.
These stocks need to post good earnings this quarter or it could get worse. Most of the stocks you listed simply have too much debt. I currently own SN
My point here is, that these companies have always outperformed the oil price, yet since about one year they are huge underperformers. What has changed? Is it just higher interest rates?
This company has hugely outperformed the oil price in 2014,however it underperforms the oil price massively since about one year. Something has dramatically changed.
Don't forget about surging natural gas prices, as NG makes up a good-size chunk of SN's production.
At $6.12. Up 2% over purchase price.
Just sold 1200 @$6.00, 20% profit. I think we may get a chance to buy it back cheaper in a few days
Maybe so.
Bought 2,000 shares at $6.00. Profitable driller in a sea of red. Target 9.25.
Goodluck
