The Services Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) measures the activity level of purchasing managers in the services sector. A reading above 50 indicates expansion in the sector; a reading below 50 indicates contraction. Traders watch these surveys closely as purchasing managers usually have early access to data about their company’s performance, which can be a leading indicator of overall economic performance.

A higher than expected reading should be taken as positive/bullish for the GBP, while a lower than expected reading should be taken as negative/bearish for the GBP.

Just remember that the "market" is one big scanner looking for positions (your money) so even if you see positive or negative results when it stop or back up it means that there is too many positions taken and then it will wait / back up until your positions are lost. So be smart about your positions. I dont even call it "The Market" anymore I call it "The Scanner" even if its suppose to move it moves based on your positions.

You know Tony, you have just given me the explanation to some of the crazy things the market does such as going the oposite direction just to collect your money and then turn around to head in the direction that would have profited you. It is indeed a giant scanner that scans for your money to collect.
