Inflation is usually caused by too much money chasing after too liitle supply of goods. Supply is restricted in this case because supply chain disruption and sanctions imposed ... will raising interest rates really reduces the inflationary pressure? Demand for essential goods will remain irrespective of how high the price will be unless substitutes can replace the shortfall. A drastic change of foreign policy may help otherwise both feet will be shot and become crippled for life. It pays to be friendly to everyone rather than bully your way through ... the bullied will get wise and react not to your expectation.
