The six members of the European Central Bank (ECB) Executive Board and the 16 governors of the euro area central banks vote on where to set the rate. Traders watch interest rate changes closely as short term interest rates are the primary factor in currency valuation.

A higher than expected rate is positive/bullish for the EUR, while a lower than expected rate is negative/bearish for the EUR.

Dow Jones Newswire sources claim the ECB Governing Council is discussing approximately 1 trillion euros’ worth of easing through 2016, and indeed this may set market expectations for the Quoate.potentially significant decision. Would this amount be enough to sink the Euro to fresh lows? Extremely stretched EUR positioning will put traders on edge, and it’s critical to rememember that fear is a much stronger emotion than greed. Unquoate Daily forex
