Lean Hogs Futures Discussions

Played the technicals, solid candle gap fill, and Asia is locked in and gorging themselves with pork roasts.
First time I've ever traded this. got in at $58.50.....we shall see. Happy hunting y'all.
Buy hogs
Its like people stopped eating pork?
what is the reason for the drop? coronavirus?
markets r acting as if the Chinese r all dead
They should buy more quality pork from US, not eat bats and other animals...
Sell the dam hogs
Hogs are doomed
China not eating pork, world not needing pork, exports are not increasing?. Japan trade deal done, China trade deal done, Mexico/Canada trade deal done... what they have common, they all import US pork.
Soaring pork prices keep China’s inflation high. That's not good for China.. https://www.farmanddairy.com/news/soaring-pork-prices-keep-chinas-inflation-high/595555.html
bearish cold storage report I'm surprised hog didn't drop at opening
buy beef
Are Hogs finally gonna fly?. . "CFTC Commitments of Traders showed funds new net position short -78,442 corn contracts, long +6,290 soybean contracts, long +29,787 wheat contracts, long +83,603 live cattle contracts and long +9,548 lean hog contracts.". . https://www.barchart.com/story/futures/quotes/HEJ20/4256727/markets-rally-on-optimistic-export-demand
LolNope
Why not? Exports are up versus last year and versus last month and growing and now we have trade deal done as well.. Why would it not go up, for what reason?
to many hogs not enough exports
Sell sel sell
China's 2019 pork output plunges to 16-year low as disease culls herd. (Reuters)
And pork exports are increasing
low supply should lead to higher prices.
Guys have a look at Bitcoin this is going non stop. Please do not short there. Have a look Bitcoin is. your will thanks me. Have a great day!
"Pork bookings from the week ending 01/09 were listed at 38,671 MT. That was the highest weekly sales since the week ending November 14th. Exports were at 41,506 MT which was a 100.5% increase over the same week last year.". Exports are up 100% compared to last year, same week and still it keeps dropping :O
Sell as much as you can
Just yesterday you said "Buy lean hogs big time trade" , what changed your mind today?
cuz he's a wanna b
US Pork Exports Starting to Accelerate. https://www.barchart.com/story/futures/quotes/HE*0/futures-prices/4236051/us-pork-exports-starting-to-accelerate
Unbelievable, April fell as low as 72.948, then bounced.
How many long positions do you have
Some from 65 and new ones from 73
At the lastest, when the Feb contract is gone we are back sub 70ties
Short now on April contract
There was a rollover to April contract with new price 74.722. . April high was last year 85.3 and low 72, it has been rising steadily for the last 3 days.
Deal is signed, like Chinese said, they will buy 40 billion a year of ag, they can start with pork now. But we're still -0.39% at 67.4
what would the hog market be like without ASF?
Always disappoints
Disappointing so far, would have expect big up by now, not -1% 66.9
China bought soybeans this morning from US and soybeans are down this morning I doubt the deal signing means ******
Well, Soybeans are at 12 month high price as well, some selling can be expected.
Chinese delegation has arrived and we can expect trade deal to be signed tomorrow. If that's not enough for Lean Hogs then what will be?.  https://www.scmp.com/economy/china-economy/article/3045937/trade-war-deal-details-phase-one-revealed-china-make-huge
"Chinese cash hog prices are up 2.28% so far this week from last week. They reside at $3.37 a pound compared to about 40 cents a pound in the U.S. What a joke.". "Reuters is reporting that Chinese pork imports in Dec were huge at 375,000 MT compared to 229,707 in Nov and 95,384 in Dec of 2018."
US hog prices are almost 9 times cheaper than in China, what a joke.
Let's see what happens tomorrow. I'm not going to short at these levels.
Next contract is on 73 dollars. That rollovers are. devastating for lean hogs, it can go down again after that.
At least this time we have Phase 1 deal signed and maybe have more insight how they plan to spend $40-50 billion on agriculture.. I guess they buy what they need, that puts pork #1 on the list?
posible go up tomorrow or next day?
Today's price was bottom again for Feb contract, on December 2. price went as low as 65.4 and bounced back up from there. Today we went pretty close to that price 65.5. In December we did not have record exports like we have today and we did not have trade deal signing on 2 days. It should go up but like we have seen, it has mind of its own.
Only my opinion
66 is same as it was on November end, beginning of December, rock bottom for Feb contract.. With record exports and trade deal in days, even COT reports shows +9195 long contracts last time.
What are you thought for next week?. I wanna think that we are finally at the bottom since trade deal is imminent and we see that China is buying more than before, they said to increase imports even more and US is ready to export more.. From the latest raport, pork export for the week ending Jan 2nd were 26,793 MT, which was a 188% increase yr/yr.
Monday tends to just range one cent or so on either side of the close, and almost always end up nearly unchanged. This will explode up at some point, but what will it take to move it? All the good news so far hasn't been enough. Will it move up to join April and June? Or will they devalue? This has been an odd few months for sure. I was really banking on 75 for mid November... Since it missed, I am now shorting every rise.
64 before going up
Where do you get this, 64, it's even below Feb low price?
