US stock futures are slightly lower this morning, as investors are awaiting earnings reports. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 10 points to 13,154.00 and S&P 500 index futures fell 2 points to 1,396.50. Nasdaq 100 futures declined 3 points to 2,733.75.
US stocks closed higher on Friday, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average rising 0.18% to 13,228.31, the S&P 500 index gaining 0.24% to 1,403.36 and the Nasdaq 100 index surging 0.61% to 3,069.20.
Data on personal income and consumer spending will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET. The Chicago-area purchasing managers' index will be released at 9:45 a.m. ET.
Loews Corporation (NYSE: L) is projected to post its Q1 earnings at $0.90 per share. Humana Inc (NYSE: HUM) is expected to report its Q1 earnings at $1.52 per share on revenue of $10.14 billion. Reinsurance Group of America Inc (NYSE: RGA) is projected to post its Q1 EPS at $1.53 on revenue of $2.20 billion.
Anadarko Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: APC) is expected to post its Q1 EPS at $0.83 on revenue of $3.42 billion. Harman International Industries Inc (NYSE: HAR) is projected to post its Q1 EPS at $0.67 on revenue of $1.04 billion. McKesson Corporation (NYSE: MCK) is projected to post its Q4 earnings at $2.06 per share on revenue of $30.40 billion.
Tenneco Inc (NYSE: TEN) is projected to post its Q1 earnings at $0.73 per share on revenue of $1.88 billion. Masco Corporation (NYSE: MAS) is expected to post its Q1 EPS at $0.00 on revenue of $1.83 billion. Jacobs Engineering Group Inc (NYSE: JEC) is expected to post its Q2 EPS at $0.74 on revenue of $2.78 billion. WMS Industries Inc (NYSE: WMS) is estimated to post its Q3 EPS at $0.42 on revenue of $190.33 million.
NYSE Euronext (NYSE: NYX) reported a decline in its profit in the first quarter.
European markets were mostly lower today. The STOXX Europe 600 Index declined 0.23%, London's FTSE 100 Index moved down 0.06%, French CAC 40 index fell 0.71% and German DAX 30 index gained 0.04%. Asian markets ended higher, with Australia's S&P/ASX 200 moving up 0.76%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index gained 1.70% and India's Sensex rose 0.72%.
Nymex crude oil futures dropped $0.52 to $104.41 a barrel in electronic trade. However, gold futures fell $1.30 to $1,663.50 an ounce.
The Dollar Index (DXY) gained 0.19% to trade at 78.86, versus 78.733 in late North American trading on Friday.
The euro fell 0.15% versus the greenback to trade at $1.3217, down from $1.3252. The dollar fell 0.12% against the Japanese yen to trade at ¥80.1750, down from ¥80.38.
