Sterling rose after last week’s surprise BoE rate hike much of the good news was already baked into the price. In fact the pair made a reversal on Friday despite a very good reading in retail sales. As UK data continues to impress and points to further rate hikes from the BoE going forward, the pound is still trading high. The CBI Industrial Trends survey and BoE minutes this week will impact trade. U.K. GDP is expected to show solid economic expansion at 0.7 percent for the quarter, which would bring the annual rate to 2.9 percent, the highest since third quarter in 2004.
