(Reuters) - China's Huawei said on Monday it is awaiting guidance from the U.S. Department of Commerce on whether it can resume using Google's Android mobile operating system on upcoming smartphones.

"We acknowledge President Trump’s comments related to Huawei over the weekend and will wait for guidance from the Department of Commerce but have nothing further to add at this time," said Tim Danks, Huawei vice president of risk management and partner relations, in response to a reporter's question about its access to the Alphabet Inc (O:GOOGL) Android operating system.

Over the weekend, U.S. President Donald Trump softened his stance on the Chinese tech giant, and told G20 summit attendees that the United States will allow expanded sales of U.S. technology supplies to Huawei [HWT.UL].

But the Commerce Department has not clarified if the decision affects Huawei's access to Google's Android mobile operating system and services that are used in Huawei's smartphones.

Someones are lamenting painfully at Huawei’s great success, helplessly too.
Ban Huawei forever
This clearly shows Huawei was.not a national treat. Huawei was way ahead in 5G, and US play sizzy and trying to slow them down. But Trump didn't know, so many US companies depended their sale to Huawei. Now he is teying to reverse.
Huawei is a national treat to every nation on plant earth.
If that is the case, then why does five countries already signed up for Huawei's advanced 5G? If it was a treat, why does Trump all of a sudden reverse course? You eat too much fake news, now you don't know what is right and what is wrong. Clearly, you are brainwashed with too much hate. Lol
Sounds like Commerce Department is trying to walk back from what Trump promised.
Nothing like declaring a national emergency on a company then jumping in bed with them a month later. I can only imagine Trump's Huawei allowance was predicated on getting the meeting with Kim Jong Un (considering it was organized promptly thereafter.....NK being the Chinamen's domicile) for publicity back state side right after the democrat debate. Always the showman first.
You mad about it?
It is trying to prevent the birth of Hong Meng.
HongMeng OS is already ready to go. Ren Zhangfei envisioned this day might happend, so they were well prepared.
