Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Staples and Transport sectors led shares higher while losses in the Finance & Investment, Services and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.98%, while the ADX General index gained 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX), which rose 0.78% or 0.040 points to trade at 5.150 at the close. Meanwhile, Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 5.330 and National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 3.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB), which fell 9.21% or 7.00 points to trade at 69.00 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) declined 8.33% or 0.110 points to end at 1.210 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) was down 5.50% or 0.023 points to 0.395.
The top performers on the ADX General were Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which rose 6.15% to 0.690, Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which was up 5.58% to settle at 4.54 and Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which gained 4.35% to close at 2.400.
The worst performers were Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 4.55% to 0.840 in late trade, Union Cement (AD:UCC) which lost 3.85% to settle at 1.250 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 3.29% to 1.47 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 32 to 3 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 14 fell and 8 advanced, while 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Emirate Integrated Telecom Co PJSC (DU:DU) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 to 5.330.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.05% or 0.02 to $43.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $45.98 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.37% or 4.63 to trade at $1248.13 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.14% to 4.0946.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 97.28.
