Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were mixed after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Services and Banking sectors led shares higher while losses in the Transport, Insurance and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.38% to hit a new 3-months low, while the ADX General index climbed 0.30%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which rose 2.80% or 0.024 points to trade at 0.882 at the close. Meanwhile, Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) added 2.21% or 0.010 points to end at 0.462 and DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) was up 0.97% or 0.010 points to 1.040 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which fell 3.36% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.150 at the close. Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) declined 1.09% or 0.080 points to end at 7.250 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was down 0.99% or 0.050 points to 5.000.

The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which rose 15.00% to 3.220, Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which was up 6.90% to settle at 3.10 and Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which gained 4.88% to close at 0.430.

The worst performers were Insurance Hous (AD:IH) which was down 9.64% to 0.750 in late trade, United Arab Bk (AD:UAB) which lost 9.42% to settle at 1.730 and Union Cement (AD:UCC) which was down 6.92% to 1.210 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 16 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 rose and 12 declined, while 8 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.73% or 0.35 to $48.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.71% or 0.36 to hit $51.00 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.12% or 1.45 to trade at $1248.25 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6728, while EUR/AED fell 0.08% to 3.9626.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 99.52.
