United Arab Emirates stocks lower at close of trade; DFM General down 1.52%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Real Estate & Construction, Services and Finance & Investment sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 1.52% to hit a new 6-months low, while the ADX General index declined 0.27%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 11.80% or 0.059 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Meanwhile, AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) added 10.56% or 0.190 points to end at 1.990 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) was up 8.33% or 0.10 points to 1.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC), which fell 9.92% or 0.130 points to trade at 1.180 at the close. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 5.97% or 0.040 points to end at 0.630 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) was down 5.59% or 0.16 points to 2.70.

The top performers on the ADX General were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which rose 8.54% to 0.89, National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was up 5.32% to settle at 4.75 and Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which gained 5.00% to close at 2.10.

The worst performers were Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which was down 10.00% to 1.17 in late trade, Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which lost 10.00% to settle at 0.270 and Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 7.99% to 2.65 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 17 to 10; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 19 fell and 9 advanced, while 2 ended unchanged.

Shares in Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) fell to 3-years lows; losing 9.92% or 0.130 to 1.180. Shares in Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) fell to 3-years lows; losing 10.00% or 0.13 to 1.17. Shares in Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) fell to all time lows; losing 10.00% or 0.030 to 0.270.

Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.93% or 0.40 to $42.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.55% or 0.26 to hit $46.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.05% or 0.50 to trade at $1084.40 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.20% to 3.9373.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 99.25.
