Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Sunday, as losses in the Transport, Real Estate & Construction and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.99% to hit a new 3-months low, while the ADX General index declined 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which rose 1.37% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.480 at the close. Meanwhile, Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) added 0.75% or 0.060 points to end at 8.100 and National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 2.880 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which fell 6.87% or 0.038 points to trade at 0.515 at the close. Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) declined 4.61% or 0.130 points to end at 2.690 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) was down 3.73% or 0.018 points to 0.465.
The top performers on the ADX General were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which rose 3.70% to 0.560, National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was up 1.06% to settle at 4.750 and Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which gained 0.39% to close at 2.580.
The worst performers were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 9.52% to 0.380 in late trade, Finance House (AD:FH) which lost 5.26% to settle at 1.800 and Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 4.76% to 0.800 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 29 to 4 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 17 fell and 5 advanced, while 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC) unchanged to 3-years lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 to 2.880. Shares in Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.70% or 0.020 to 0.560.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.24% or 0.12 to $50.32 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $52.02 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.48% or 6.00 to trade at $1251.60 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.77% to 4.0302.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.56% at 98.08.
