Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Transport, Banking and Finance & Investment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.98%, while the ADX General index lost 0.92%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were National General Insurance Co PSC (DU:NGIN), which rose 7.78% or 0.13 points to trade at 1.80 at the close. Meanwhile, SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) added 6.62% or 0.100 points to end at 1.610 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) was up 4.11% or 0.06 points to 1.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX), which fell 2.67% or 0.120 points to trade at 4.380 at the close. Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) declined 2.27% or 0.030 points to end at 1.290 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) was down 2.13% or 0.030 points to 1.380.
The top performers on the ADX General were Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which rose 8.26% to 1.1800, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 7.69% to settle at 0.980 and Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which gained 4.17% to close at 2.500.
The worst performers were Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 9.89% to 2.37 in late trade, Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which lost 7.14% to settle at 0.390 and Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was down 3.57% to 0.540 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 25 to 14 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 15 fell and 3 advanced, while 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) rose to 52-week highs; rising 7.69% or 0.070 to 0.980.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.51% or 0.27 to $52.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.18% or 0.10 to hit $55.22 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.33% or 4.00 to trade at $1200.00 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.06% to 3.9308.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 100.42.
