Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Sunday, as losses in the Real Estate & Construction, Consumer Staples and Finance & Investment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.80%, while the ADX General index declined 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD), which rose 3.03% or 0.250 points to trade at 8.500 at the close. Meanwhile, National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) added 2.17% or 0.040 points to end at 1.880 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) was up 2.07% or 0.030 points to 1.480 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR), which fell 2.67% or 0.200 points to trade at 7.290 at the close. DXB Entertainments (P.J.S.C.) (DU:DXBE) declined 1.92% or 0.020 points to end at 1.020 and Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI) was down 1.90% or 0.009 points to 0.465.
The top performers on the ADX General were Abd Nat Takafu (AD:TKFL) which rose 12.36% to 5.00, Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which was up 5.62% to settle at 1.690 and Methaq (AD:METH) which gained 2.44% to close at 0.840.
The worst performers were Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was down 2.82% to 1.380 in late trade, Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which lost 2.00% to settle at 2.94 and Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which was down 1.27% to 2.330 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 20 to 12 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 8 fell and 7 advanced, while 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.62% or 0.090 to 1.690.
Crude oil for May delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $49.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $51.70 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 1.90 to trade at $1229.00 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.28% to 3.9436.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 100.14.
