United Arab Emirates stocks lower at close of trade; DFM General down 0.32%

Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Sunday, as losses in the Transport, Insurance and Finance & Investment sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.32%, while the ADX General index lost 0.52%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which rose 4.13% or 0.05 points to trade at 1.26 at the close. Meanwhile, National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR) added 2.05% or 0.040 points to end at 1.990 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) was up 1.26% or 0.030 points to 2.420 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which fell 4.29% or 0.039 points to trade at 0.871 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) declined 4.08% or 0.060 points to end at 1.410 and Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) was down 3.29% or 0.050 points to 1.470.

The top performers on the ADX General were Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which rose 14.00% to 0.570, Fujairah Cement Industries Co PSC (AD:FCI) which was up 5.31% to settle at 1.190 and Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which gained 3.51% to close at 0.590.

The worst performers were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was down 10.00% to 4.230 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 4.45% to settle at 2.790 and Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which was down 2.30% to 2.120 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 27 to 8 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 9 fell and 7 advanced, while 11 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.18% or 0.61 to $52.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.62% or 0.34 to hit $55.23 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.21% or 2.65 to trade at $1255.95 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6729, while EUR/AED fell 0.49% to 3.8896.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 101.08.
