Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Insurance and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.26%, while the ADX General index declined 0.88%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were National Central Cooling Co. (DU:TABR), which rose 1.07% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.890 at the close. Meanwhile, Emaar Malls (DU:EMAA) added 0.39% or 0.010 points to end at 2.600 and Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB) was up 0.33% or 0.020 points to 6.070 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which fell 9.78% or 0.180 points to trade at 1.660 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) declined 4.72% or 0.050 points to end at 1.010 and Takaful House (DU:DTKF) was down 2.33% or 0.030 points to 1.260.
The top performers on the ADX General were Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which rose 3.33% to 3.10, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 2.25% to settle at 0.910 and Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which gained 2.11% to close at 1.450.
The worst performers were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was down 9.68% to 2.800 in late trade, Finance House (AD:FH) which lost 6.91% to settle at 1.750 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 5.88% to 0.800 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 23 to 6 and 9 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 19 fell and 5 advanced, while 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dubai Islamic Bank (DU:DISB) rose to 52-week highs; up 0.33% or 0.020 to 6.070.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.41% or 0.75 to $52.47 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.21% or 0.67 to hit $54.82 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.57% or 6.85 to trade at $1211.75 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.26% to 3.9420.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.41% at 100.36.
