Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Banking and Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.11%, while the ADX General index declined 0.11%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 4.44% or 0.060 points to trade at 1.410 at the close. Meanwhile, Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) added 1.88% or 0.040 points to end at 2.170 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was up 1.80% or 0.014 points to 0.790 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which fell 6.43% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.31 at the close. Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) declined 1.94% or 0.160 points to end at 8.100 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) was down 1.76% or 0.015 points to 0.837.
The top performers on the ADX General were Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which rose 3.70% to 1.400, Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which was up 2.76% to settle at 2.230 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which gained 1.64% to close at 0.620.
The worst performers were Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which was down 9.71% to 1.580 in late trade, Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which lost 9.68% to settle at 2.80 and Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was down 6.87% to 1.490 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 17 to 12 and 6 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 11 fell and 11 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.80% or 0.39 to $49.23 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.07% or 0.55 to hit $52.07 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 1.30 to trade at $1256.80 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED rose 0.18% to 4.0105.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 98.93.
